Hyperopia
What is hyperopia?
Hyperopia is sometimes referred to as long-sightedness. This is when the eye is able to see distant objects clearly, but close objects are out of focus.
What causes hyperopia?
Hyperopia occurs when the light rays coming through the eyes focus behind the eye. This can be caused by:
-
The cornea being too flat
-
The length of the eye being too small
Can hyperopia be corrected?
The good thing about hyperopia is that it can often be easily corrected by some form of vision correction such as glasses, contact lenses or laser eye surgery.
